Let the capacity of the tank be LCM of (30 and 45) = 90 units

Number of units of water filled by pipe P = 90 ÷ 30 = 3 units

Number of units of water filled by pipe Q = 90 ÷ 45 = 2 units

Number of units of water to be filled by both pipes in 12 minutes = 12 × 5 = 60 units

But, only 1/3 rdof the tank is filled i.e. 90 ÷ 3 = 30 units.

This means 60 – 30 = 30 units of water is emptied by the leakage.

Time taken to empty 30 units of water by leakage = 12 – 2 = 10 minutes

So, time taken to empty 90 units of water by leakage = 30 minutes

Hence, option b.

Let the number of notebooks with a boy and a girl be ‘x’ and ‘y’ respectively.
4x + 7y = 67 --- (1)
x = 1.6 × y --- (2)
On solving (1) and (2), we get x = 8 and y = 5
So, required sum = x + y = 8 + 5 = 13
